The past couple of days have been pretty darn exciting. Yesterday I got my grades for second year back, after a horrific month and a half wait, and I somehow managed to get a first overall! Yes, I know - I cried.<br />
<br />
Anyway, that means that I am definitely (well it hasn't been confirmed yet but it's pretty much certain) that I am studying at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver next year. Words cannot explain how excited I am.<br />

Hello!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll be honest with you. My online shopping first began by trying to find a sale wish list. I spent a good hour or so traipsing through the remainder of the Topshop, ASOS, H&M, River Island and Dorothy Perkins website and actually only found one item I loved enough to put on a wish list. I then looked at the new arrivals and - oh look! - it's all black, white and burgundy. I think my brain is telling me I'm ready for Autumn but I haven't even been on holiday yet!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have a thing for maxi cardigans and I absolutely love this one. Surely cold lecture theatres is a good enough reason to buy it (it really isn't...but it should be).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They work day and night and I'm loving the colour. At £25 it is a pretty reasonable price! It's tempting...very tempting.</div>

I kind of want a pair to wear along side my docs so I don't wear them out too quickly and I love these! I already have black chunky boots so the dark red is a nice change. They look uber comfy too!<br />

I'd buy myself one but I recently came across a longline vintage mac in my shed so didn't see the point in getting another similar coat. However, I tried this one on in Topshop on Monday and words cannot express how gorgeous it is. I almost bought it there and then had it not been for the price tag. £50 and it would have been mine. £79? Not so much.<br />

Come on DP - bring it out in your main range please!<br />
<br />
So that's this week's wish list! Surely I'm not the only person looking at A/W 14 already? Let me know!<br />

Hey there! I popped up into London yesterday to meet up with Amber considering it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago and we're used to seeing each other every day (not once a month!). After spending 45 minutes trying to find her in Kings Cross Station (words cannot explain how much I dislike that station) we popped up to Oxford Street for a spot of shopping. What started out as a disastrous day ended up in me spending WAY too much money so I need to sort through everything I bought and make sure I actually need it all. I organised 3 black sacks of clothes last night to get rid of - that helps right?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a name='more'></a><br />
After a morning of finding nothing in Topshop, River Island, New Look and Office we popped into H&M. For just £15 I got a phone case, a skirt and a gorgeous ribbed midi dress. The midi dress comes to the perfect length and I cannot wait to wear it out!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I popped into Primark....I think that says it all. I have been thoroughly disappointed with Primark recently and didn't expect to pick anything up but oops...I came out with a £65 bill! I did get three pairs of shoes! I am only going to keep either the brown or the black wedges but I cannot decide which! I love the look of the black pair but the cream ones are so much more comfortable and I do need a pair of brown/white sandals. I picked up the metallic Birkenstock style sandals too just for wandering around the pool/beach/hotel on holiday. I was going to pick up cheap £1 flip flops but I never wear them anyway so I'm sure I could find a pair somewhere anyway (and I needed frilly socks to go with the sandals I keep right?)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also picked up another pair of the huge, round sunglasses. I had a gorgeous pair two years ago from River Island and they mysteriously disappeared during my first year of uni. They were nowhere to be found when I emptied my room and fortunately this much more affordable pair are now everywhere to be found. I love them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The Little Mermaid bodysuit I bought for a joke. It's definitely more of a swimsuit material but has a button up clasp (unfortunately!) I might keep it for my holiday to wear about - it's just hilarious and was only £3! I don't know...there isn't exactly any longevity towards it's fashion lifetime is there?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also picked up a striped peplum top and a longline black cardi. I'm loving all of the midi stuff in the shops right now. I much prefer it to all of the cropped cardigans and jackets you usually get this time of year.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSXwtbp6s8-NAyGvlrz08el9p36DTGkbl7_nmMH-GIrhady9mOJF3SaxqlCfGAqEv4Iwuy14zvvuGqHv4-hNBDG0lnGoLYIF1xokXcD5GHRlNPrWHjehCI_73iaXSqPxegTLqbfxzOaS4/s1600/IMG_0187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSXwtbp6s8-NAyGvlrz08el9p36DTGkbl7_nmMH-GIrhady9mOJF3SaxqlCfGAqEv4Iwuy14zvvuGqHv4-hNBDG0lnGoLYIF1xokXcD5GHRlNPrWHjehCI_73iaXSqPxegTLqbfxzOaS4/s1600/IMG_0187.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Last of all (drum roll please...) I treated myself to the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer moisturiser. It was £29.50 in Selfridges and the sales assistant said that if it doesn't give the effect you expect or it doesn't sit well on my skin etc. I could bring it back within 28 days. I couldn't help but pick it up when you have a returns policy like that. I have the strangest skin ever (it's literally a mix of oily/dry/(so comb) and ultra sensitive) and stress really affects my skin so I'm hoping that this moisturiser can fix it right up. I've used it twice so far (day and night) and I can already feel a difference in my skin. It is keeping it's moisture much further into the day and if that is from two applications I cannot even imagine what 2 weeks or longer is going to show. I'm so excited! (Oh, and I love that you get free samples with every purchase - it's lovely!)<br />
<br />
So that's pretty much everything I picked up yesterday. I really could have shown a bit more restraint.<br />
<br />
Have you used the Skin Rescuer? Oh, and please let me know what shoes to keep - I seriously cannot decide!<br />

Here is this weeks mixtape. I've added a couple of guilty pleasures today (in the form of The Vamps and 5SOS). I can't believe I like these songs - but they are so damn catchy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXrTEb20plRbj2XhNFW761aeJFBO3dhpvuKWcNntn8OfafB3rAJrSpeiOXUU4A2PhVVyLHZ5i7_3tTiHxsu5wv3zEy8_to4F6Qlo0tRj7z6qvHxQ6dKdhTKmxiSRHl6jd1Cb7ITy8XhH8/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXrTEb20plRbj2XhNFW761aeJFBO3dhpvuKWcNntn8OfafB3rAJrSpeiOXUU4A2PhVVyLHZ5i7_3tTiHxsu5wv3zEy8_to4F6Qlo0tRj7z6qvHxQ6dKdhTKmxiSRHl6jd1Cb7ITy8XhH8/s1600/3.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>Right, I'll say it now. The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer are not my thing. When I was 14-15 I would have LOVED them but now at 20 I feel like I'm a tad old. It's hard not to hate them when their songs are so catchy. I haven't really DISLIKED any songs The Vamps have released yet. They are definitely a guilty pleasure (I really wish I hadn't shared!) This track is so summery and holiday-ish and ergh...I like it okay!?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the 5SOS note - I'm not too keen on their other stuff. I just really like this song! I reminds me (maybe a little too much) of So Much I Never Said by Artist Vs Poet and that is childhood right there. I think it's the whole nostalgia thing going on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm still listening to Ed Sheeran's album on repeat (See my review <a href="http://rachaelisnotwowzie.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/music-monday-ed-sheeran-multiply-review.html" target="_blank">here</a>!). At the moment I'm A Mess is definitely my favourite song - his voice sounds amazing!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Periodically I listen to another song from the TFIOS sound track and I'm loving CHARLI XCX's addition. It's really different to the rest of the tracks (and she is just amazing - just saying!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's this week's mixtape - hope you enjoy it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

As you may (or may not) have seen, when I went to the Company Style Blogger Awards a few weeks back I got my hair done by one of the lovely ladies at Lee Stafford. She used the strangest curling want I had ever seen on me and it gave such a good look that I ended up buying it earlier in the week.<br />
<br />
I'm such a sucker for things that give my hair massive curls with minimal effort.<br />
<br />
Here it is - the Lee Stafford argan oil twisted curling wand.<br />
Not gonna lie - I really like it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkbTuKBtwUgTm_9Cm0MhO2F5Hr7MZt_a7M4c1iC0IFPYYHpsTinYN_Inc53Gndq7fgdFZcJyAuCZsdKUPtUXSfyqIBZ3w9MF65TWgPXJWkoDArj7OTZS9XRE6SuvkCr2yYr21SHWLKXD0/s1600/IMG_0518.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkbTuKBtwUgTm_9Cm0MhO2F5Hr7MZt_a7M4c1iC0IFPYYHpsTinYN_Inc53Gndq7fgdFZcJyAuCZsdKUPtUXSfyqIBZ3w9MF65TWgPXJWkoDArj7OTZS9XRE6SuvkCr2yYr21SHWLKXD0/s1600/IMG_0518.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see, it is a really odd shape. It's based on the beach waves wand that many companies have released but the odd shape/pattern means you don't get uniform curls/waves so your finished look is much more natural. Sometimes with curling irons or straighteners the curls are just too uniform for my liking whereas I feel with these tongs my hair almost looks naturally wavy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVHxU0v2yqMnq76QWmRtN4Bz1h2qPmSThdXj23pTWBU55KEcFkwC0KfNqJPkgVgR5fRBBThQbRC-mwxbRPj8vJ3c8syhft4c4mSQY3darImJBPMKa30ny1mEGIJPOJ-nt-invQc7IwOY4/s1600/IMG_0517.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVHxU0v2yqMnq76QWmRtN4Bz1h2qPmSThdXj23pTWBU55KEcFkwC0KfNqJPkgVgR5fRBBThQbRC-mwxbRPj8vJ3c8syhft4c4mSQY3darImJBPMKa30ny1mEGIJPOJ-nt-invQc7IwOY4/s1600/IMG_0517.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Another plus is the ceramic barrel is coated in argan oil meaning (in theory - I wouldn't do it) that you COULD use it without a heat protection spray. My hair always feels really soft and looks shiny after using them and I don't often get that so that is really nice!<br />
<br />
Oh and they are just a little bit gorgeous! I love the bright pink and orange combo - they really brighten up my room!<br />
<br />
For me, there is a very certain way to use these otherwise it can look pretty weird/not have any effect what so ever. Believe me - I have tried!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJQ1uya-IrjsRaS8go-UmWhyphenhyphenm5xVcQBVdTWFXTenZRv2iQgNoA2JDPfDviF2auGu7-oBOy4qV9uRX6Ez4Lmiqzbw-jqIQzVYdNQ_aP6QFnasjXDnnYppp8zFiNV6IwWHkN6XeH6U7uRBI/s1600/IMG_0471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJQ1uya-IrjsRaS8go-UmWhyphenhyphenm5xVcQBVdTWFXTenZRv2iQgNoA2JDPfDviF2auGu7-oBOy4qV9uRX6Ez4Lmiqzbw-jqIQzVYdNQ_aP6QFnasjXDnnYppp8zFiNV6IwWHkN6XeH6U7uRBI/s1600/IMG_0471.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Here's my hair, freshly washed and brushed, without any product (just for comparison)</span></div>
<br />
Step 1 - Make sure you brush your hair first. I know that should go without saying but this curling wand works MUCH better on brushed hair. I'm a bit lazy when it comes to that sort of thing but seriously - it helps.<br />
<br />
Step 2 - I usually add a heat protecting spray (I don't have a particular favourite - whatever is cheap!) followed by a texturising spray (I've been using the VO5 dry texturising spray which seems quite good) and scrunch the hair a bit just to make sure any product I have added is spread a bit more evenly.<br />
<br />
Step 3 - I use the wand to curl really small pieces of hair. I'm talking of widths between 1-2 cm. I know that sounds like it'll take forever but my hair doesn't like to curl with pieces any wider than that. Due to the shape of the wand, it doesn't matter where you put the hair - just let it fall anywhere! It adds to the look giving a more natural finish.<br />
<br />
Step 4 - After 20 minutes (sometimes less!) I have curled my entire hair. I then use my fingers to pull out the curls and make them much, much bigger. You can brush them out too, but I tend to use my fingers to pull them out and crunch them up etc. etc. - you have more control. I finally finish with a hair spray/setting spray to keep the massive (mermaid!) curls in check and voila! You are done.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_bNAKSdvbFKcp8pxaZDulhx3WkwaHEtu1la1ZnBogKY0W_p5GrfYYRNuWwaFAhGLs6XR2bjQmLcPAihqH10g74PIv4vHWszKwNskJWbf-4N2fl9i_unHxxqRBL0gUuVE65xmEO_JdQl8/s1600/IMG_0490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_bNAKSdvbFKcp8pxaZDulhx3WkwaHEtu1la1ZnBogKY0W_p5GrfYYRNuWwaFAhGLs6XR2bjQmLcPAihqH10g74PIv4vHWszKwNskJWbf-4N2fl9i_unHxxqRBL0gUuVE65xmEO_JdQl8/s1600/IMG_0490.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see, massive, relatively natural looking curls and waves with a serious 60s vibe which I love! Okay, this is not the most versatile curling tong. I've only ever made it create huge mermaid waves but in my opinion it counts as daytime hair in the summer and evening hair in the fall so I'm not complaining! My hair doesn't like to curl at all and I find that even the morning after my hair still has a good wave to it which surprises me every time I see it.<br />
<br />
Overall, I like this curling wand. It's a bit different to your usual curls and is much easier to use than the bobbly round beach waves wands (I've tried, I don't see the point).<br />
<br />
Have you tried any Lee Stafford products before? What are your views on all of the weird and wonderful hair products coming into the market? Let me know!<br />

I cannot be the only person in the world who is already over Summer right? Sure, it has just started but my summer styling is just not up to par in my opinion. I love Autumn and Winter where I can pile absolutely everything on at once. At the moment I'm having to really think about what I wear and if it goes with that top. There are only so many hot days and so many t-shirts, blouses and skirts to wear. It's always such a pavlova (haha pavlova - I'd love some right now!) trying to decide what to wear. Does anyone else feel this pressure? You're right - it's probably just me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Anyway, here's my wish list for this week. I've tried to add a few summery bits here - really, I tried!</div>

I love it! From the Jack Wills/Tommy Hilfigereqe strap to that large, gorgeous face I am in love. I need a new watch for work (and general use of course) but I don't see the point in spending much on a watch because I don't wear them for 2 days minimum a week once uni starts in September. This watch is lovely though - a girl can tempt herself can't she?<br />

<a href="http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/black-triple-strap-chunky-sandals-_312926501?isRecent=true" target="_blank">Black triple strap chunky sandals: </a>I hate sandals on a general day to day basis unless I am wearing them with tights/socks. I have recently bought a couple of pairs for my holiday (I really can't wear my Docs in 30 degree heat can I?) and whilst browsing on the New Look website saw these beauts. I am loving a nice heel right now but the chunky platform makes them look uber comfy. Oh - and buckles. Two buckles (good).<br />

I love rips! Unfortunately, I don't even think running 5k a day will make these fit before my holiday in two weeks. Such a shame - too much pavlova got me into this situation in the first place!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wanted-Voyage-Deluxe-George-Ezra/dp/B00JPV5G5E/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_1" target="_blank">Wanted On Voyage - George Ezra:</a> This is SUCH a good album. Go listen to it now - it is fantastic. I love his voice and the whole album is so summery - I feel like I'm on a steamboat when listening to it (and I wouldn't want to be on one of those in the Winter!) However, it's easily an album I'll listen to in the Winter - it's brilliant!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.hm.com/gb/product/02192?article=02192-K#shopOrigin=SA" target="_blank">Checked Slacks:</a> I've wanted a pair of trousers like this for absolutely ages. They are so wintery but I love them insane amounts. They are in the sale and still in my size. I don't know if they would fit and postage is almost half the price of the trousers. Apart from that (ew, postage) it is so tempting!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=14747621&langId=-1" target="_blank">Rose and lily garland: </a>I've been looking at this particular hair garland for so long now. Every time I pop into a Topshop that has it I have tried it on, loved it, and put it down again. I've had three separate people say it looks gorgey and that I should buy it but it is £16! I could really only wear it Reading Festival (which I'm working - exciting stuff! Let me know if you are working Reading Fest too!) but then I have the whole argument of 'it's so pretty' versus 'it's a £16 headband - do you really want to ruin it at a festival?'. The answer to that is no....which is why I still don't own it.<br />
<br />
So that's this week's wish list done. There is so much loveliness in the shops this summer. How is a girl ever going to decide what to get?<br />

A lot and not very much has gone on in the past week. Ed Sheeran's album was released a week ago and I'm now a little bit obsessed. I've not really stopped listening to it. I've been working a lot meaning that I have to listen to the same few songs over and over. All the new music I've heard recently has been from Heart radio and let's face it - they aren't exactly all over new and upcoming artists. However, I have repeated a few songs this week and here they are!<br />
<br />
Please note that I have no idea why I like Rude by Magic! I guess it is so catchy and summery that I can't help but like it when the weather is as beautiful as it has been.<br />
<br />
George Ezra's new album came out today and it's sounding pretty good! It's definitely worth a listen - I absolutely love his voice!<br />
<br />
Have you been listening to any of these tracks recently? Let me know!<br />

I apologise for this outfit being very similar to that I posted last. I had about three hours notice to head up to London and just wanted an outfit that was simple and would work and was comfortable. The weather was all over the place and I just gave in and put the kimono on in case it got cold. This kimono is my favourite that I own. It's just so gorgeous - I can't stop wearing it!</div>

It was such a gorgeous hotel. I was in complete awe. With ultra high ceilings and a gorgeous little seating area in the lobby and vintage furniture everywhere I just wanted to stay all evening. We were greeted by four lots of security and door staff! As soon as I got in I was greeted by a free cocktail (I could get used to this) and a DJ set before Kimberly Anne came on stage.</div>

Kimberly Anne was very good live! I'd never heard of her before but she is absolutely fantastic so go and check her out! Her EP Hard as Hello was released little over 2 months ago and it's sounding good. She's also playing London soon so if you are in the area go check her out!</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Of course, Hudson Taylor were brilliant. Their harmonies were spot on and overall they were just fantastic live. They played quite a few tracks from their new album which (apparently) they are just finishing up at the moment. I can't wait to hear it - I'm sure it'll be fantastic!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So that was my evening seeing Hudson Taylor. Have you seen them live or really want to? Let me know!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm going on holiday in a little over a month and am in desperate need of some new swimwear. I'm not the smallest girl in the world and so do not want a skimpy bikini that would leave absolutely nothing to the imagination. That lead me on a hunt looking for as many swimsuits and high waisted bikinis (that aren't ridiculously expensive or horrifically frumpy). I had to look at ASOS and managed to add almost £200 of swimwear to my basket. How am I going to choose?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4002507" target="_blank">ASOS CURVE Highwaisted Bikini Pant in Wide Stripe</a>: I'm not going to lie - I like a Beetlejuice stripe. River Island released a very similar bikini earlier in the year and it sold out before I could buy it. Now ASOS have got it in both their CURVE and original ranges and I'm in love. It is a bikini, but the bottoms are high enough waisted that hopefully only a few inches of stomach on show - perfect. The set is £32 - It's pricey but I'm tempted.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4021356" target="_blank">ASOS CURVE Highwaisted Bikini Pant</a>: How beautiful is that colour? The ruching should hide a multitude of sins and the dark red would hopefully not make me look like a tomato if I get burnt. This one is only £28 and is also available in black. I know Matalan do a pair of bikini bottoms very similar although I don't think they are as high waisted. I might have to have a look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3917619" target="_blank">ASOS Cupped Stripe Bandeau Swimsuit:</a> Yep, more Beetlejuice stripes. I don't know if it looks more referee (but I could try and work that). The vertical stripes should hopefully be pretty slimming it has a structured bust which would make me feel a lot more comfortable. For £24 it is slightly more affordable compared to my other picks but just as nice.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3385983" target="_blank">ASOS Cupped Mesh Insert Bandeau Swimsuit: </a>I don't know if it's obvious that I like black swimwear. This is a simple black swimsuit but the mesh detailing makes it that bit more special. It's a bit revealing but in all the right places. At £28 it isn't a bad price - but I don't know.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3916849" target="_blank">ASOS Textured Square High Waisted Bikini Pant:</a> How lovely is the detailing? They are plain but I love the square texture. They don't have the top in my size but I do like the bottoms. So cute! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=4088177" target="_blank">ASOS Caged Moulded Triangle Bikini Top:</a> I am loving caged bikini's at the moment. Unfortunately the bottoms are teeny weeny but as the top is black, hopefully any high waisted bottom will match. It's a little revealing and would give very strange tan lines but I love it none the less! A girl can wish.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that's my ASOS swimwear wish list. They have such a wide selection for relatively affordable prices. Sure, you can get much cheaper swimwear but it's not always nearly as lovely.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just cannot decide which set to get (if any!?). Have you ever had ASOS swimwear? Do you have as many issues as me getting swimwear? Let me know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Today Ed Sheeran's new album was released! I've been waiting for it for absolutely ages and recently have definitely been keeping up to date with the new tracks as he has released them. I finally got my paws on the album this afternoon (before listening to it on Spotify all morning) so here is my review for Music Monday!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkOuuHcP74Wh_j0C05ofBfc29hAhvoQW_KyXPQrru8aUs_aaXeoE3BSZRzQciE1aeRIAmkPIlI4L-Ocpnvli6W1z3OZU45Z5xk6fWZAe-e4qRNdZozo2TN-tbBQCYAV0tNeFaEKfY16Aw/s1600/Ed+Sheeran+multiply+review.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkOuuHcP74Wh_j0C05ofBfc29hAhvoQW_KyXPQrru8aUs_aaXeoE3BSZRzQciE1aeRIAmkPIlI4L-Ocpnvli6W1z3OZU45Z5xk6fWZAe-e4qRNdZozo2TN-tbBQCYAV0tNeFaEKfY16Aw/s1600/Ed+Sheeran+multiply+review.jpg" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">In short: 4/5 stars</i></div>
<a name='more'></a>Firstly - it's a fantastic album. Every song is good in its own right. Sure, there are some that I'll listen to more than others. There are definitely a few tracks that are stand out tracks and some that could be considered as 'fillers'. However, even those that I don't like too much aren't bad. It's really quite a good album.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To me (and I have been a fan for quite a few years), Ed has really gone back to his roots. There is a lot more of his incredibly fast speaking and less so of his acoustic love songs. Sure, it was the acoustic love songs that got me hooked on his last album but I understand what he's done with this second album. It's more upbeat (in places) and in general the complete opposite of Plus. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think the one thing that gets me is there are a couple of tracks where the intro REALLY sounds like another song. Once you are into the actual song they are completely different - but still. Photograph definitely caught me off guard - I thought I'd put my iPod on shuffle and was listening to Mayday Parade (I love the song though!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Overall, the album is really lovely. It's more upbeat, the music is technically much more complex. There are more layers and it is more produced than his last album and for that I feel like you can't really compare them. Every single track on Plus was a stand out track for me, whereas Multiply just has a few that I will listen to until I am sick of them. Still, I would happily listen to the entire album time and time again. I love it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i><u><b>TOP TRACKS</b></u></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>One - Ed Sheeran isn't Ed Sheeran without a love song and I love this one. It's pretty much perfect.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Sing - It's so catchy and sounds like JT so much but I cannot help but sing and dance to it.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Don't - Imagine having a BBQ or lounging around the house of an evening listening to it. Good right?</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Photograph - another lovely love song (too much). It's wonderful.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Tenerife Sea - Woah, another love song. I didn't realise there were so many.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Afire love - yeah, it's about love but it's a bit more upbeat. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Shirtsleeves - lovey dovey I know - but again upbeat!</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you listened to Multiply yet? Do you love it as much as I do? Let me know!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Rachael xoxo</div>
<br />
P.s. The more I listen to it the more I love every single track. Give me a week and I'll probably think every song is a stand out track.<br />
<br />
P.p.s. I'm really upset New York didn't make it to the final cut of the album - if you haven't heard it, listen to it on Youtube. It's really lovely and I hope it makes it onto a B-side.<br />
<br />
P.p.s. It seems that my top tracks consist of half of the album - oops.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10535383732778659861noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2658408270485665846.post-6258301678963573742014-06-20T19:10:00.000+01:002014-06-26T14:14:14.102+01:00READ // Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Introducing part 2 of my weekly posts: review friday! Every friday I'll upload a review of some sort. This week - Life As We Know It by Susan Beth Pfeffer</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5nnJ27hJJIk6M3Uoryvgd_OVbed7LsMJJPMC7fjGv9Yl-B-mxQPW852Wz4ELY4Er_lx-KNJlUPpb2rKcgp52AzAUlNmquBE9O4FnjQ0tIfR3hrIsye_8H3irKtAUvg32pcq6GYZWK_Q0/s1600/IMG_9701.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5nnJ27hJJIk6M3Uoryvgd_OVbed7LsMJJPMC7fjGv9Yl-B-mxQPW852Wz4ELY4Er_lx-KNJlUPpb2rKcgp52AzAUlNmquBE9O4FnjQ0tIfR3hrIsye_8H3irKtAUvg32pcq6GYZWK_Q0/s1600/IMG_9701.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now I've finally finished university for the year I have time to read again (when I'm not working!) This is the first book that I have read this summer and it was okay. Sure, it wasn't the best book to start the summer with but it was worth a read.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b style="font-style: italic; text-decoration: underline;">In short: 3/5 stars</b></div>
<a name='more'></a>Life As We Knew It is a dystopian, young adult novel - my cup of tea (embarrassingly!) The story follows the life of Miranda, a young girl living in Pennsylvania when natural disasters occur due to a collision with the moon (spoilers over).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Honestly, I found this book difficult to get in to. I didn't particularly like Miranda as a character. I was split between 'she's such a brat!' and 'Oh, but I'd probably do stupid stuff if McDonalds actually did close down'. I really liked the idea though - a dystopian novel that actually seemed relatively realistic in comparison to today's world. Usually they are set 200 years in the future and not in a world similar to today. In theory I should really relate. However, it still wasn't great.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What I did like about this book is that is really showed the importance of family. At the end of the day, if we were in a post-apocolyptic world, chances are that you could only depend on your family. Sometimes, I guess, I'm just a little busy seeing my friends/working that I don't see my family as often as I should. This book made me realise that (and that is a good thing).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Overall, it was an okay book. It was well written and was an interesting idea but it didn't really work for me. Even 3/4 of the way through I decided that I wouldn't read the sequel (at that point I'm usually obsessed!). I might - but I doubt it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Have you read Life As We Knew it? What did you think? Let me know!</div>

After a rushed text during my break at work on the Tuesday my lovely friend Louise (or Fern as I call her) decided she wanted to come with me. Being greeted with the most amazing sausage roll (well hot dog) I had ever eaten and delicious ice cream was a good start. We then headed in and got our nails, hair and henna tattoos done. The cocktails were lovely - although tasted like pink lemonade lucozade - but don't ever tell a bartender to surprise you because he'll probably spill it down himself and you'll have to pretend not to see (just saying).<br />

There were two lovely ladies from Lee Stafford doing hair and I absolutely adored mine! She used the new Argan Oil Twisted Curling Wand (<a href="http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1576344.htm" target="_blank">here</a>) which I am now obsessed with. The wand has all sorts of strange curves and angles to it to give you a random, non-uniform, natural looking curl. Although curls start really small, brushing them out a bit gave me huge mermaid hair that I want to recreate again and again and again! (My nails were also done and the colour is ORLY but I cannot find which one - I'll update it when I do!)</div>

On Thursday I popped up to Norwich with Hannah (who I hadn't seen for ages!) It was such a lovely day, showing her around Norwich. It is crazy how I've lived there for 2 years and still have seen so little. Shopping definitely happened and a post for that will be uploaded soon!</div>

When I told my mum I bought a crop top she almost fainted. To be honest, if you told me three years ago that I'd own several crop tops I definitely wouldn't believe you. However, here we are, three years later with no less than four crop tops. I think the main thing is wearing it in a way that you feel comfortable. I always wear them with very high waisted skirts or over dresses so that I don't have my belly on show - no-one wants to see that! Two of my friends also have this £8 crop top and it looks completely different on all three of us (proof that it isn't the item but how you wear it!)</div>

Of course we went to Biddy's tea room. For £5.45 you get a huge slice of cake and huge pot of tea. How can you say no? Today it was a different seat with different books and ornaments. I cannot recommend Biddy's enough. If you are in Norwich just pop in! </div>

Lastly, how cute is this tea pot? I almost bought it (until I realised I had no reason to buy a cat teapot). If anyone wishes to donate it to those without a novelty cat teapot (e.g. me) it would be much appreciated!</div>

I've decided I want to post much more regularly than I have been. Therefore, I am introducing three weekly posts this week starting with MUSIC MONDAY. I absolutely love making playlists (I think one of my dream jobs may be being a Radio 1 DJ) and I've made a few playlists in the past so now it's time to make this a weekly thing!<br />
<br />
Hope you enjoy!<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Radio 1 have been playing Heart and Soul a lot recently and it got Twin Atlantic their highest chart position to date. I'm not surprised - I absolutely love the verses and bridge (I just ignore the chorus). </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have been going on about Amber Run on twitter and instagram for a while. They are absolutely amazing and I love their Spark EP. The harmonies are perfect and I did not stop listening to it during exam season. It's just £1.99 on iTunes and absolutely stunning. It is definitely the best EP I've downloaded all year. Give them a listen - they are going to get big (and quick!)</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Every once in a while I get obsessed with Heads Will Roll - this is one of those times.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Work has now got some new music in - including Sing. I found myself singing and dancing to it in the fitting rooms the other day. Slight oops.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Lastly is Hudson Taylor's new single Battles. Hudson Taylor are my little obsession right now and I wish I had seen them in London a few weeks ago.I keep watching life videos online and it just makes me so impatient to see them! I cannot wait to see them at Reading Festival in August - I will make sure my shift doesn't overlap as if my life depends on it!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Have you been loving these songs recently or intend to have a listen? Let me know!</div>

Hello there! I've had such a busy week this week and I hope the summer stays just like it! I popped into London on Wednesday to see QI being filmed (after being told it was postponed from the Tuesday - what a nuisance!). After a lot of rearranging I eventually made it (and got within the first 10 people due to the others seeing Loose Women first. Brilliant!)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My leather (well PU) skirt is my number one, favourite purchase of the year. I picked it up in the sale for just £15 and I have worn it so many times it was definitely worth the super cheap price. It works for night and day and is now my go-to for any occassion.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Believe it or not, no one was in the tube station for a good 2 minutes or so before this photo was taken. I decided to ask one of the girls (two of which I met that day through the brilliant Emma!) to have a go at taking a photo and obviously the whole of Leicester Square decided to make their journey home. I definitely felt like a little bit of an idiot. The things we do for a blog post!</div>

I was so lucky to get a place at UEA two years ago and now there is quite a high (well kind of) chance that I will be spending next year in Canada, studying at UBC. Although both universities have abbreviations of three letters I know that it is going to be a huge change if I do go. I'll have really moved out...well moved country! I cannot just pop home for the weekend if I want to go see my cat or it's my friend's birthday. It's crazy to think that in three months time I'll be living over 8 hours away by plane.<br />
<br />
Anyway, on my final day in Norwich me and the girls decided to wander about the lanes and have a cup of tea. There is no better way to go out in style than with vintage tea pots and freshly baked victoria sponge cake if I do say so myself.<br />

I think Biddy's Tea shop is my favourite in Norwich. The whole place is so cute and every time you go you end up sitting somewhere different and seeing yet another ornament or book you hadn't seen before. I picked up the raspberry and almond sponge (which was pretty yummy) and washed it down with black vanilla tea. Each person gets their own (huge) tea pot which makes is fantastic value. I think I must have had 6 cups of tea!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Unfortunately it was pretty busy so we didn't get a seat straight away. I was pretty hungry and we ended up popping into the Grosvenor Fish Bar. I have to say - they were the best chips I have ever eaten!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cannot believe I have lived in Norwich for two years and never gone in and actually tried them. It's much cheaper than going to Nandos! The actual dining area is in an underground cave and I was in shock it even existed. The only reason we popped in was because we'd overheard the chips were good. I now don't think I'll ever stop going. If you are ever in Norwich and want some chips, leave McDonalds alone and just go to Grosvenor's. You will not regret it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So that was my final day in Norwich. Well it was. I'm now going back on Thursday because apparently I miss it that much (or the girls forgot to take a meter reading for the gas and electricity - that can force a spontaneous trip to Norwich too).</div>

I looked at my blog for the first time since April today and was astounded/gobsmacked/disgusted/surprised/any other adjective that I hadn't blogged at all. To be fair, my exam season was tremendously long this year. After 10 lab reports, 3 assessments and a course test I still had 5 exams to revise for during April, May and June (and that's just second semester!) However, I am finally free from exams (well I'm revising some physical in case of a resit) and I really want to get back into blogging. The weather is lovely and I'm just so busy right now with driving, work and the other commitments I've somehow made along the way that I feel like I finally have things to talk about.<br />
<br />
It's crazy what a bit of good weather will do to a girl.<br />
<br />
So now, I'm starting again with this whole blogging malarkey. I'm currently organising certain weekly posts and how I'm going to do outfit posts and what I really want to talk about. My first real post is coming today and I just can't wait to get back into blogging. I have the whole summer ahead of me...what could go wrong?<br />

Excuse the awful photos - the weather was awful and I actually took these photos to send to a friend to ask if my outfit was okay for a night out. I wore it in the end (although felt very underdressed!). The dress is so comfy and actually says 'wallflower' on the top. It's a bit weird but I love the pattern so decided to keep it. 25% off ASOS own brand is dangerous!</div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The boots I picked up for £26 and they are real leather! I got them for nights out - who wants to wear £100 docs or high heels every time they go out? Well, not me anyway. They are not the most comfortable boots in the world but they are a hell of a lot better than heels! I always get asked if they are Doc Martens as well - I don't know why. They look nothing like them!</div>

How have I not posted anything for over a month! How, how, how, how how?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have been they busiest I have ever been and working non-stop. I had three deadlines last week, two deadlines a week every week before that, a course test (I definitely failed - not kidding) this morning and still have one lab report to do. I've had to go out and read the occasional book just to stay sane. I wish I had more than one evening to waste to just relax but with five exams looming but unfortunately that's not the case! One evening will have to do. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: purple; font-size: x-small; font-style: italic;">£5 H&M kimono / Haim are amazing / Becky's birthday / no more labs / I MET HAIM / Deliriu, / Physical chemistry / Paperchase obsession / Headlights showcase</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
1. I don't go out much, but when I do I go nuts. I took advantage of the 20% H&M discount a while ago and finally wore my floor length black kimono. I just paired it with a vest top, my leather skirt and Topshop Wink sandals and really love the outfit. If you haven't noticed, I've started wearing my hair with a middle parting too - it was time for a change!<br />
<br />
2. I finally saw Haim again (for the third time!) and they are brilliant. They just ooze coolness and I want to be a Haim sister. I've really gotten back into playing guitar since seeing them again. All it takes is a bit of inspiration to really get you back on track. I might even go back to guitar lessons over the summer.<br />
<br />
3. I had to go back home to celebrate my friend Becky's birthday - especially because I probably won't be next year (fingers crossed!). It is always so lovely to see everyone from home - I'm going to miss that so much.<br />
<br />
4. My second semester of year 2 is coming to a close and I got just a little bit excited about finishing labs for the year. It feels nice not to have a 9am start on a Tuesday but I already miss my labs. Weird. Oh, and this picture has confirmed my suspicion that I should wear goggles all the time. Just saying.<br />
<br />
5. Oh, I MET HAIM. I didn't really have time to wait - I had a poster on Eptifibatide to work on but I did anyway. Since my uni has a music venue on campus it has been on my bucket list to meet a celebrity/band etc. on campus and now it has happened! They were super lovely (and I still want to be a Haim sister).<br />
<br />
6. I may have been working non-stop but I need some sort of fun in my life to keep me sane. Recently this has come in the form of books. Bus journeys to and from uni are not the same without one. I finally read Allegiant (just oh my god I cannot deal) and then moved onto Delirium which I LOVED! It was such an original idea and was brilliant and I definitely recommend it. I'm about half way through Pandemonium and I am showing exceptional will power to put it down just after one chapter. I think I may try and finish it tonight before I start working again tomorrow - it's so good!<br />
<br />
7. I couldn't have posted an Instagram update without a picture of me working. Physical chemistry has taken over my life for the past week and I cannot tell one equation from the other anymore. I guess I'll just have to work even harder then. <br />
<br />
8. To cheer myself up (after my horrific test this morning) I went a bit nuts in Paperchase. I saw the parrot wrapping paper and became obsessed. I almost bought the hip flask! The lobster wrapping paper is also perfect and I couldn't help but buy the postcards for 60p each. I've wanted postcards (the designs are the same as those on Alphabet Bags) but you have to buy multi-packs if you get them direct. I was so happy to find these so cheap (and individual!) so £5 later I had a bag full of card....<br />
<br />
9. Last, but not least, we finally had the Headlights annual Revue. After a lot of stress, deceit (they told me the show was going to get cancelled - erghh) and hard work we pulled it off. Bad Bread - our headline act - were absolutely brilliant and super duper lovely. Overall, it was a pretty successful night! I'm actually super sad to be leaving Headlights this year. I already feel out of the loop as I'm not on the committee next year (for obvious reasons). They'll have to keep me posted.<br />
<br />
So that is just a few of the things I've done over the past month. I don't know how I've had the time to breathe! Tonight I'll relax and 9am tomorrow morning (otherwise I won't get a computer at the library!) I'll start working again.<br />
<br />
You really don't realise how much you miss wasted time until you don't have the time to waste.<br />
<br />

Hello!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This has been long overdue - I know. I guess this is what second year chemistry does to you. I have not stopped since the semester has started and now I've just finished week 6. I've had lab reports coming out of my ears, rehearsals for the Headlights end of year showcase, I've been trying to eat a little more healthily and be exercising three times a week, I've had to sort out my year abroad stuff, internships - basically everything! Oh, and there is keeping up with lectures and tutorials too. I've currently got two lab reports on the go but due to my living in the library for the past week I'm giving myself a little breather (I think the first report is almost done now anyway!) so here is my first post in about 3 weeks. Ergh, I'm a terrible blogger!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: purple; font-size: xx-small;">Models Own Utopia and Pink Fizz / Pink lipstick / Uni life / The 1975 were amazing again! / A night out with my girls (and guys) / Why was L'oreal 3 for 2?</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
1. See my post (<a href="http://rachaelisnotwowzie.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/models-own-sale-haul.html" target="_blank">here</a>) for my Models Own sale haul. When I found out about it I spent a good 10 minutes on the bus trawling through which colours to get and I am so happy I picked up Utopia and Pink Fizz. They are such a power couple! Utopia has the most amazing staying power and the glitter literally peels off in one go so it isn't a pain to remove. I LOVE LOVE LOVE.<br />
<br />
2. As I have been working non-stop I have been neglecting my pink lipstick. For the first time in over a week I actually put it on and - let me tell you - I missed it. I feel like a completely different person without a bright lip. I feel like I blend in a little bit more and I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing!<br />
<br />
3. Like I said - I'm spending all day every day in the library (or lab!). This photo was actually taken on Valentines Day. Who needs to bake cookies and belt out Taylor Swift when you have Tom Odell, sweet and salty popcorn and inorganic chemistry?<br />
<br />
4. Last Saturday I went to go see The 1975 again. Chris came down to Norwich and we made a weekend of it. They were absolutely amazing (again!) and I ended up actually chilling with The Neighbourhood for a while after the gig and then in The LCR at A list afterwards. But yeah - both The 1975 and The Neighbourhood were AMAZING - check them out if you haven't already!<br />
<br />
5. As I said, we went to The LCR for A List after The 1975. Sam (in the photo) came up to see Amber and Chris actually took this photo but it was such a good night out. I think it is definitely going to be one of those nights at university that I will never forget. I've never had such a good night out!<br />
<br />
6. Lastly, I went into town and came back with 3 L'oreal products. I saw the advert for the new foundation and instantly had to try it. I don't need a new foundation for a while but I thought I'd pick it up whilst it was on 3 for 2. I've had my eye on the eye palette (haha) for a while and finally picked it up along with a new mascara (I'll need one of those soon too). I managed to get all three for £14 because I had £6 of beauty points on my Superdrug card so I can't really complain. I just hope they are all fantastic products!<br />
<br />
So here is my latest Instagram update - don't forget to follow me at <a href="http://instagram.com/rachaelwowzie" target="_blank">rachaelwowzie </a>if you want to see more!<br />
<br />
I'll try and post more often - I promise!<br />

I couldn't help but take advantage and I am just a little bit proud that I managed to stop at just 6 new varnishes. I could have bought at least 12!<br />
<br />
I felt a little silly ordering new nail varnishes considering I haven't painted my nails since last summer. It takes forever for nails to dry and I feel so guilty spending an hour painting my nails when I could be working. However, now I've gone back to painted nails I don't know how I didn't paint them for so long. It looks so much better!<br />
<br />
Anyway, here are the varnishes I picked up in my haul!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I paired Utopia with an accent nail of Pink Fizz and absolutely love the mix. The pale pink glitter is a really good match for the pink/lilac/grey Utopia and I am just a little bit obsessed. I just want to redo this combo over and over again (I can't do that). This is one day (and a shower!) after initial application with no topcoat and as you can see there is no chipping. I'm so happy and 100% glad I did pick up these two shades at least.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll continue with swatches and reviews when I get round to using them all.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<br />
I can't believe this is my third book review in 2 days. I might as well just make this blog about books and nothing else!<br />
<br />
I don't think I could do that.<br />
<br />
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I read The Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason and here is my review!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
the blurb of this book, it promises a lot. Come on, a book somehow connecting Victorian(?)<br />
England, Egyptian legends, time travelling work? Even more, the main characters include Bram Stokers sister and Sherlock Holmes' niece.<br />
<br />
Yeah, I know right.<br />
<br />
It isn't the most well written novel (it sure isn't badly written) but it was a lot of fun. There were some love triangles in there, plenty of murder mystery for you to get your teeth into and it was constantly moving. I love a good imaginative book but I can't help but feel this was too over extended. I loved the whole time travelling aspect but nowhere near enough time was spent developing it.<br />
<br />
Maybe it will get developed in the next book in the series?<br />
<br />
Overall, it's a fun book. It is definitely more suited to young adults. If I was 12-14 I would LOVE this book. However, at 20 years old (gasp!) it is just too implausible for me to get my head around. Too much is going on.<br />

Yes, here is another book review.<div>
So far this month (and we are on the 20th!) I have read 9 books. NINE.</div>
<div>
Here is my third review!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGrOvhQhnTsSEq86n_IRpR2uD7XbbCzT9xWY0R8Udy6tdEMlplpG1LUbxnFyyBkguYw26KAKa-xskdLymsfkZXdq-DvB0qisq2uol_CBBn3yLZI_XJ670GilHHVB4kePrDnmKMsn-D8Fs/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-01-20+at+22.52.31.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGrOvhQhnTsSEq86n_IRpR2uD7XbbCzT9xWY0R8Udy6tdEMlplpG1LUbxnFyyBkguYw26KAKa-xskdLymsfkZXdq-DvB0qisq2uol_CBBn3yLZI_XJ670GilHHVB4kePrDnmKMsn-D8Fs/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-01-20+at+22.52.31.png" height="478" width="640" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Nobody is another dystopian young adult novel. I'm not going to lie, once I'd read The Hunger Games trilogy I couldn't stop with the dystopian theme. There is something about it that is so realistic - it could actually happen! - but then again is so ridiculous that you are just engulfed in the flames (or you know, words) and you cannot stop reading.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm not going to lie to you - this isn't the best book I have ever read. Of course, it is not at all realistic, the characters annoyed me a little bit and it isn't a piece of literary art. However, there is just something about this book that kept me drawn in.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The story line is fantastic. It was so original. The fact that some people have different energy levels than others, allowing them to be nobodies or nulls, just fascinated me. I guess it was the scientist in me - damn scientific curiosity. What if there were these people roaming around the streets ready to attack you for whatever reason? How would you know?</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There is romance, non-stop action and loads and loads of teenage drama. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I can imagine, that with a few tweaks, this plot of this book would make an amazing movie. It would look so impressive on a big screen.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So overall, it isn't a bad book. I don't regret reading it at all but I am not sure I'd exactly recommend it to anyone. If a friend stumbled upon it and asked my opinion I'd say 'read it - it's not too bad at all'</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I think that sums it up.</div>

I read Divergent in about 2 days. I read Insurgent in less than 24 hours. I know - crazy right?<br />
I just could not put it down.<br />
<a name='more'></a>I read quite a few reviews before I bought Insurgent and quite a large proportion of people do not like this book. Sure, this series is not the most taxing of read. The story is prettyunrealistic and imaginative but they are still fantastic books. They are original, you really get to know the characters and you just want to be there, involved and going as nuts as everyone else.<br />
<br />
Like I said, it took less than 24 hours in total for me to read Insurgent. I could not put it down. There was non-stop action, romance, absolutely ridiculous ideas, utterly brilliant ideas and just something constantly happening.<br />
<br />
A lot of the time I just wanted to hit Tris over the head and shake some sense into her.<br />
<br />
I think the reason I liked this book so much is that the characters really develop. That is really important to me. If the characters aren't believable or are static I really zone out. But it isn't like that in this book - the characters are fantastic.<br />
<br />
Overall, I enjoyed this this book - a lot. I am desperate to read Allegiant but I really don't like paying more than £5 for a book. I read them too quickly! If it is on offer I will be buying it like lighting!<br />
<br />
<b><span style="color: #4c1130;">3.5 out of 5 stars</span></b><br />
<br />
Have you read Insurgent or is it on your read list? Let me know!<br />
<br />

<br />
P.s. I'd love to be able to jump of a train onto a roof. I went to my first BodyCombat class (in true Tris style) and loved it. I still ache (and it was on Thursday) but so so worth it.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10535383732778659861noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2658408270485665846.post-79354833980466327402014-01-12T14:30:00.001+00:002014-01-12T14:30:59.692+00:00Instagram Update #12<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: purple; font-size: x-small;">Divergent / New Years Eve / Insurgent / Back to work / I love Primark socks / Gingerbread fro</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
1. On New Years Day I started reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is absolutely fantastic (see review here). I could not put it down. It is definitely worth a read.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2. I went to a house party on New Years Eve this year. I got a lovely dip hem dress from ASOS and paired it with one of my necklaces from the New Look sale and my docs. It was such a lovely night. We could totally be a girl band.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
3. It took me about 3 days to read Divergent (which I got for 99p on my Kindle for one day only! So lucky) and I bit the bullet and bought Insurgent pretty much straight away. I think it actually only took me two days to read. I desperately want to read Allegiant but at £5.80 for an ebook I'd rather not. I am going to hope that the library get it in at some point so I can borrow it. £6 will get me a lot of socks!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
4. I got this lovely new mug (well bowl) for Christmas from my mother. It is making the transition back to revision, work and lab reports just that little bit easier.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
5. I popped into Primark today and ended up having a sock binge. I could have bought so many. I don't know why I love socks so much but I couldn't help myself. I'm a little bit obsessed. Oh, and the PJ shorts were only £1! What a bargain?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
6. Unfortunately, town opened later than Amber and I were expecting. Therefore we enjoyed a nice coffee in Costa and she gave her gingerbread man a foam fro. I've never laughed so hard in a coffee shop before.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Christmas is over and I'm back at university tomorrow. I wish Christmas break could last forever. I have so much to do this semester - let's hope it all goes well!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
