Reading Festival

I’ve been to Reading Festival!

It was a fab weekend, as usual, and the weather was absolutely fantastic! I know this seems like a fairly pointless statement but in 2011 it poured down with rain the whole weekend so everyone was miserable. This year it was sunny (apart from when it poured down for Florence and the Machine) so it was easy enough to walk around and I didn’t feel like I was an astronaut walking on mars in a space suit.

Friday
Chris Ramsay
Coheed and Cambria
Angels and Airwaves
You Me At Six
Passion Pit
Paramore
The Courteeners
Foster The People

Saturday
Florence and The Machine
Kasabian
Miike Snow
Twin Atlantic
Azealia Banks
Jake Bugg
Billy Talent

Sunday
Seann Walsh
The Gaslight Anthem
All Time Low
Bullet For My Valentine
Kaiser Chiefs
The Black Keys
Foo Fighters

For me, the stand out performances were definitely Florence and The Machine, Paramore, Foster the People and Kaiser Chiefs. I don’t know too many songs by Foster the People or Kaiser Chiefs but they were fantastic. They both had the whole crowd moving and were fantastic on stage.

I was impressed by Paramore considering they are two band members down. They had a set list which included a large proportion of their old stuff and for me, that was amazing. I am really fed up of bands who only play their new material because half of the time I don’t know/like it. I know this is my fault rather than theirs but when an old album is scrapped it just feels like a waste to me.

Florence and The Machine was my favourite band of the weekend. It was pouring down with rain and the stage was like a swimming pool but Florence still performed phenomenally. Her set included a couple of songs that I didn’t know (I still haven’t clicked with Ceremonials) but her performance makes up for that.

So yeah, I enjoyed Reading Festival this year.
Hey there, I’m Rachael and this is my new blog.

I’ve recently been accepted to study Chemistry at the University of East Anglia so I thought to celebrate I would start a new blog. I’m super excited to get started but I have a good three weeks to wait yet. I’m sure it’ll come around soon enough.

Expect a mixture of posts. I could mention anything from the new arrivals from my favourite shops to how I have painted my nails one day. I might even have the odd tutorial if I feel overly creative. We’ll just see!
