HAUL // Oxford Street, London

Hey there! I popped up into London yesterday to meet up with Amber considering it was her birthday a couple of weeks ago and we're used to seeing each other every day (not once a month!). After spending 45 minutes trying to find her in Kings Cross Station (words cannot explain how much I dislike  that station) we popped up to Oxford Street for a spot of shopping. What started out as a disastrous day ended up in me spending WAY too much money so I need to sort through everything I bought and make sure I actually need it all. I organised 3 black sacks of clothes last night to get rid of - that helps right?

After a morning of finding nothing in Topshop, River Island, New Look and Office we popped into H&M. For just £15 I got a phone case, a skirt and a gorgeous ribbed midi dress. The midi dress comes to the perfect length and I cannot wait to wear it out!

Then I popped into Primark....I think that says it all. I have been thoroughly disappointed with Primark recently and didn't expect to pick anything up but oops...I came out with a £65 bill! I did get three pairs of shoes! I am only going to keep either the brown or the black wedges but I cannot decide which! I love the look of the black pair but the cream ones are so much more comfortable and I do need a pair of brown/white sandals. I picked up the metallic Birkenstock style sandals too just for wandering around the pool/beach/hotel on holiday. I was going to pick up cheap £1 flip flops but I never wear them anyway so I'm sure I could find a pair somewhere anyway (and I needed frilly socks to go with the sandals I keep right?)

I also picked up another pair of the huge, round sunglasses. I had a gorgeous pair two years ago from River Island and they mysteriously disappeared during my first year of uni. They were nowhere to be found when I emptied my room and fortunately this much more affordable pair are now everywhere to be found. I love them!

The Little Mermaid bodysuit I bought for a joke. It's definitely more of a swimsuit material but has a button up clasp (unfortunately!) I might keep it for my holiday to wear about - it's just hilarious and was only £3! I don't know...there isn't exactly any longevity towards it's fashion lifetime is there?

I also picked up a striped peplum top and a longline black cardi. I'm loving all of the midi stuff in the shops right now. I much prefer it to all of the cropped cardigans and jackets you usually get this time of year.

Last of all (drum roll please...) I treated myself to the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer moisturiser. It was £29.50 in Selfridges and the sales assistant said that if it doesn't give the effect you expect or it doesn't sit well on my skin etc. I could bring it back within 28 days. I couldn't help but pick it up when you have a returns policy like that. I have the strangest skin ever (it's literally a mix of oily/dry/(so comb) and ultra sensitive) and stress really affects my skin so I'm hoping that this moisturiser can fix it right up. I've used it twice so far (day and night) and I can already feel a difference in my skin. It is keeping it's moisture much further into the day and if that is from two applications I cannot even imagine what 2 weeks or longer is going to show. I'm so excited! (Oh, and I love that you get free samples with every purchase - it's lovely!)

So that's pretty much everything I picked up yesterday. I really could have shown a bit more restraint.

Have you used the Skin Rescuer? Oh, and please let me know what shoes to keep - I seriously cannot decide!

Rachael xoxo

  5. I'm the same with Primark! I never usually make an effort to go, and when I do, I'm often disappointed. The last few times have been great though - definitely more promising! You picked up some lovely things!

    1. I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing! It means I will actually pop in next time in town and that may or may not end well....
