Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation Review - Light Porcelain (101)

I have been using this foundation for about three months now so I thought it was time I did a review. My mum bought this for me for Christmas after I complained my favourite foundation was discontinued.

According to the Rimmel website, this foundation is:
·      Light perfecting radiance foundation
·      Traceless coverage for perfectly flawless skin under any light
·      Lasts all day
·      SPF 18
·      RRP £6.99

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain: SPF 18 and light reflecting

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain: a pump is attached to this foundation thank God!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in Light Porcelain: A view at the description and ingredients (in case you wanted to know?)

Light porcelain is a very, very pale pink. It is the palest foundation I have found on the high street – ever! I would say for me, it is probably a bit too pale but I really don’t care. It wears well. It blends into my skin well and you can’t tell I am wearing foundation when I wear it. It’s fab!

It is quite a thick foundation but doesn’t really cover blemishes too well. It is a good colour corrector though – that is important to me in a foundation. My skin does seem to reflect the light a bit with a dewy finish – just as it says on the bottle.

It has SPF 18 within it and doesn’t have an obvious sun screen smell. Because of this, it is quite moisturising. However, if you have an overly dry patch on your skin it does show up. It isn’t that moisturising.

As it is a very thick foundation – compared to what I usually buy – so I use very little. On an every day basis, I use ¾ of a pump and that is enough for my whole face. This means that it lasts for ages! I have been using this foundation for at least three months and I feel like I have only gotten through about a third of the bottle. I want to buy new foundations (like the MaxFactor CC cream) and use my Revlon foundation but I can’t because there is so much of this one left! I never thought I’d get annoyed over a long lasting bottle of foundation. Oh, and the bottle is huge in comparison to others!

My final point – I’m not sure the foundation lasts all day. It does last well, but if I go out in the evening I would definitely reapply the foundation. If you are around the house, it really doesn’t matter. If you were going straight from a 5pm lecture to a meal out – I would have to take the time to reapply (but that is just me).

Overall, this is a pretty good foundation with a cheap RRP. If I needed a new foundation and there were no new formulas that fitted the bill I probably would buy this foundation again. It gives good coverage with a good colour that is natural and moisturising. What more do you want?

Have you used this foundation? What are your thoughts?
Rachael xoxo

    1. It's fantastic to see the high street finally selling paler foundations!
If you like the Match Perfection you might like the Ideal Flawless foundation in light pink from Avon. It's just slightly pinker than Rimmel and has almost a shimmer to it but is the same consistency (more or less!)
